Despite the test having originated back in the 1980s, during Lockdown restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the test went viral on TikTok, with teens and young adults in particular, taking part in the survey.
Initially some of the questions were considered to be old hat and out dated, but even so, the 1980s version still proved very popular on TikTok.
It wasn’t long before Gen Z TikTok users came up with their own, modern version of the test known as the ‘Innocence Test’. This version generated millions of views in a matter of hours and became so popular that a website was created for people to take the updated version online for free.
